As BayFirst’s Chief Growth Officer, Josh leads the implementation of the company’s strategy to grow business with existing government customers and diversifying to support new clients and missions. He is responsible for expanding current analytical capabilities and developing new technical solutions and products to support our national defense. With more than 15 years of senior executive experience in both government and private industry, he has won and managed all aspects of multi-million dollar programs in the defense industry and across the federal government. Josh is experienced in transforming existing organizations to address emerging technology requirements that meet strategic growth priorities and revenue goals.
Prior to joining BayFirst, Josh held multiple senior roles in private industry; from the creation of a foreign-owned defense businesses specializing in data, analytics, and research to one of the world’s largest defense contractors as the Vice President for Global Market Development, Intelligence and Security Sector at BAE Systems Inc. In all these efforts he has lead business development and capture to support expanding into new markets or creating new capabilities to gain market share.
Prior to the private sector, Josh served as the Director of Intelligence, Forward for United States Forces-Iraq under U.S. Central Command in the Department of Defense, where he was responsible for managing all military intelligence efforts in Baghdad’s International Zone. He also served as the Executive for Policy and Resources, Program Manager, Information Sharing Environment at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). His responsibilities included formulating government-wide policies for information sharing and privacy. Prior to working at the ODNI, Josh worked in the U.S. Congress as the Deputy Policy Director for the House Committee on Homeland Security and Staff Director of the Subcommittee on the Prevention of Nuclear and Biological Attacks.
During his government service, he received an appointment by the first Director of National Intelligence, Ambassador John D. Negroponte, to the Senior National Intelligence Service and was awarded the Director’s Exceptional Accomplishment Award by Admiral J. Mike McConnell. He is the recipient of two Department of Defense Medals, the Superior Civilian Service Award and the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and OPERATION NEW DAWN. Josh completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Kansas, and earned a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.
