BayFirst Receives Top Awards for Employer Support of Guard and Reserve
Washington, D.C. – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense (DoD) office, announced today BayFirst Solutions was honored with an Above and Beyond Award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. BayFirst CEO Kevin Gooch accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“We are committed to doing what is right for America’s national security and what is best for our employees. The contributions that our Guard and Reserve employees make to our company’s success and our nation’s defenses are truly ‘above and beyond.’ I am very proud of our team, and the recognition they receive for their commitment, integrity, and sense of duty. On behalf of the entire BayFirst team, I am honored to receive this award,” Gooch said.
BayFirst Solutions has a long history of supporting America’s Reserve and Guard employees by going beyond the basic requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
“The ESGR Above and Beyond Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize American employers providing extraordinary patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve, said Jean Hulet, Maryland ESGR state chair. “Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
During the event, Mr. Tommey Meyers, BayFirst Solutions Senior Vice President of Client Services was also presented with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of his employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.
Meyers was nominated for being highly supportive of Reserve Service by United States Navy Reserve CAPT Scott Crews, a member of BayFirst Solutions.
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Hulet. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
“In my role as a Navy Reserve Commanding Officer, I am often called away from work at the last minute to attend command conferences, leadership meetings, and perform other mission related activities,” said Crews. “My reserve duties and responsibilities often require time away from work, early departure on Fridays prior to the drill weekend, and coverage by other BayFirst members to ensure seamless support while I am away from work.
Mr. Meyers, a former member of the US Coast Guard, is highly supportive of my reserve commitment and has eased the stress and strain on me as a reservist. Tommey Meyers has been the driving force in creating this positive atmosphere and work environment where I feel my reserve commitment is truly appreciated by him (my supervisor) and BayFirst Solutions LLC (my organization). I am extremely grateful to Tommey and BayFirst Solutions LLC for their continued support of my Reserve Commitment.”
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
